Returns & Insurance Policy

At It’s Only Paper, we deal in rare, delicate, and high-value artwork. To ensure the protection of these pieces and a fair process for our collectors, we adhere to the following policy:

1. Return Period

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery. To be eligible, you must notify us of your intent to return the item via email within this 14-day window.

2. Shipping & Postage Costs

  • Non-Refundable: Please note that all original shipping and handling fees paid at the time of purchase are non-refundable.

  • Customer Responsibility: The cost of returning the item is the sole responsibility of the customer.

3. Mandatory Insurance & Third-Party Coverage

Because standard postal couriers (such as Royal Mail, UPS, or DPD) often have "prohibited items" lists or very low compensation limits for fine art, the following insurance rules apply:

  • Full Value Coverage: All returns must be sent via a tracked service and insured for the full purchase value.

  • Third-Party Insurance: Since standard postage often does not cover the full value of artwork, we strongly suggest purchasing additional shipping insurance from a third-party specialist, such as Secursus or Transit2Insure.

  • Liability: The safe arrival of the return is the sender's responsibility. If a returned item is lost or damaged in transit and has not been adequately insured, It’s Only Paper will be unable to issue a refund. In this event, the sender must pursue a claim directly with their insurance provider.

4. Condition & Packaging

  • Pristine State: Items must be returned in their original, immaculate condition.

  • Professional Packaging: Art is fragile. You must reuse the original professional packaging (heavy-duty tubes or flat-packs) to ensure the work is not creased or damaged during transit.

  • Documentation: All original Certificates of Authenticity (COAs), provenance papers, and invoices must be included in the return package.

5. Refund Process

Once we receive and inspect the artwork to confirm it is in its original state with all documentation:

  • A refund for the item price only will be issued.

  • Refunds are processed back to the original payment method within 14 days of the item’s arrival at our studio.

6. Damaged on Arrival

If your order arrives damaged from our courier, you must contact us within 24 hours of delivery. Please provide high-quality photographic evidence of both the external packaging and the damaged artwork so we can initiate a claim.
